Inaugural Method Race Wheels LAUGHLIN DESERT CLASSIC
Presented by Canidae Tap It – May 4-8, 2016

The Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic presented by Canidae Tap It kicks off this week with a nearly week-long series of exciting special events leading up to Saturday’s and Sunday’s multi-heat style races showcasing Best In The Desert’s Car, Truck and UTV classes. 203 race teams are already signed up to take on the special 17-mile racecourse. The racecourse will feature several miles of new desert terrain that has never before been utilized in a Laughlin racing event. From the “Parade of Champions” on Wednesday, May 4, thru the final heat race on Sunday May 8, the action and excitement will never slow down.

Colbey Groom of race sponsor Method Race Wheels had this to say, “Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls…it’s high time we revisit a town that has brought many off-road moments of greatness, albeit mostly airborne. That’s right, we’re invading the fine city of Laughlin, Nevada and it’s time to race! Laughlin has brought some drivers to greatness and others to their mortal knees begging for mercy. The 2016 Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic presented by Canidae Tap It is sure to provide all that and then some.” Colbey added, “With the two-day race format, fans are in for a treat having the opportunity to watch their favorite teams race not only on Saturday, but Sunday as well. Best In The Desert has done an incredible job of putting together a new course that will also include the Laughlin Leap made famous by so many off-road legends in the past.

Best In The Desert director, Casey Folks has not only brought back the famous Laughlin Leap, but also added new exciting sections to the race course such as The Dragon’s Trail, The FOX Gauntlet and Proving Grounds, The Devil’s Playground, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, and The Fly Over where race vehicles leap completely over highway 162.

The city of Laughlin is anxiously looking forward to this exciting event as well. MJ Smith of the Laughlin Tourism Commission said, “On behalf of the Laughlin Tourism Commission and the Laughlin resorts, I would like to welcome racers and race fans to the inaugural Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic. Best In The Desert has worked tirelessly for more than a year to give off-road enthusiasts to race a new course in one of their favorite locations.”

We strive to make sure that racers’ participation in the sport of off-road racing meets the level of professionalism they expect and deserve,” said Casey Folks.
