Silver State 300 Pit Information Guide
All pits at the Silver State 300 are designated for race teams who are actively racing and should be used for pitting operations only.
Space is limited; please only use the space you need and make efficient use of the space. We’re all in this together!
Pit Access Requirements - What is needed to enter any pit?
- Waiver Wristbands - Any person entering a pit must wear a Waiver Wristband.
- Each individual, including kids, needs to sign the event waiver and must pick up their own Waiver Wristband in person.
- Racer Waiver Pickup - Racers can pick up their waiver wristbands at the racer registration.
- Pit Crew Waiver Pickup - Racers can pick up their Pit Crew Members' wristbands as long as the Liability Waiver is filled out for each person on their Pit Crew. Those who have not signed the waiver will need to complete it and pick it up on site.
- Pit Access Wristbands - Any person entering a pit needs a "Pit Waiver Wristband",
- Driver of Records are required to obtain Pit Access Wristbands for their pit crew members by ensuring that each of their pit Crew members sign the Liability Waivers.
- The Driver of Record will be given all Pit Access Wristbands at onsite registration, so pit crew members do not need to go to race registration.
- Vehicle Pit Pass - Any vehicle entering a pit needs to have a Vehicle Pit Pass. Pit passes must be displayed on the front windshield, on the upper passenger side of the vehicle window.
- Cars/Trucks – Each Driver of Record will be issued (6) vehicle pit passes at on-site registration for the day you are racing.
- Motorcycles – Each Rider of Record will be issued (4) vehicle pit passes at on-site registration for the day you are racing.
- The Driver of Record will receive all Vehicle Pit Passes at on-site registration.
Approved Pitting Locations (3 Pits):
There are three approved pitting locations at The Silver State 300. You are not approved to pit anywhere else along the race course.
- Main Pit (RM 0.9) - Full Access Pit
- Remote Pit (RM 17)
- Motorcycles: This is a BITD run fuel pit only. Motorcycle Pit Crews will not be allowed to access this pit location.
- If you plan to use this pit, you must bring your fuel can to the BITD tent at Tech with your race number clearly marked on the can. We recommend a separate 1-gallon can for each lap. BITD will provide fueling assistance at this location.
- You must provide your own fuel cans.
- We will have fuel mats available, and our team will be equipped with the proper fuel suits if you would like assistance with fueling.
- Your fuel cans can be retrieved at the main pit after the race is finished.
- Limited Race Teams: You will be allowed to fuel at this pit under the following conditions:
- One pit vehicle only
- No more than two crew members
- Only one fuel or dump allowed
- Race cars can only receive fuel assistance and rack a spare tire if needed.
- Race teams will receive the pit map and directions at the driver's meeting
- Motorcycles: This is a BITD run fuel pit only. Motorcycle Pit Crews will not be allowed to access this pit location.
- Millers Alternate Pit (RM 76) - Full Access Pit
Can I camp overnight in the pits?
No - There is no overnight camping in ANY pits.
- Due to insurance and BLM permit stipulations, camping and pitting must remain separate at the Silver State 300
- If you see someone else camped in a pit, they are not supposed to be there and will be asked to leave to the camping area.
Will the main pit spaces be marked, and how big are they?
Pit spacing will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Pit Crew Members will be able to come into the Main Pit and Miller's to secure your location two hours prior to your race time.
Main Pit Move In/Out Times:
- Main Pit Move In: Approximately two hours before the start of your race.
- Main Pit Move Out: Immediately after your race concludes.
Main Pit Equipment Move In:
Pit Crews will be able to start moving their Pits in two hours before the start of the race.
- Again, There is no camping overnight.
- If you are leaving anything parked in the pitting areas, please secure your belongings.
What is the pit crew speed limit to and from pits?
- All pit crew vehicles must observe a 15 MPH speed limit when entering, operating within, and exiting all pit areas to ensure the safety of racers, crew members, and officials.
General Pit Rules:
- Campfires (or fire of any kind), pets, bicycles, firearms, alcohol, or any illegal substances are strictly prohibited in the hot pit area.
- Minors MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- No SS300 participant (driver or crew member) may use or be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other controlled substance while working/competing.
Failure to obey these restrictions will result in ejection from the pit area and may prevent you or your team from participating in the Silver State 300
