American Off-Road Racing Championship Youth Points Chases Wrap Up at Laughlin Desert Classic

The American Off-Road Racing Championship’s commitment to developing the next generation of off-road stars has been evident all year long, from the glamour of the Mint 400 to the groundbreaking addition of Youth 1000 racers to the early stages of Casey Folks Vegas to Reno. Friday’s Laughlin Desert Classic brought the title chase to an end for the sport’s youngest racers, and just like the adult classes later in the weekend, many class winners would likely become AORC season champions as well with their victories.

The 170, 200, and 250 classes kicked off the Youth races on their own devoted course, which measured in at 1.6 miles and saw racers start five-wide for 25 minutes of racing. When all was said and done, Youth 250 winner Wyatt Mayfield and runner-up Cade Finley were the only two drivers to complete 11 laps, with 170 Production winner Dylan Llamosas completing the overall podium. Wins for Iydalis Martinez in Youth 170 Open and Savaya Levinson in Youth 200 would elevate both drivers from second to first in points, while Johnny Savino Jr. would lock up the 170 Production title and Finley’s second place finish would be enough for the Youth 250 title.

Class winners from the 2026 Laughlin Desert Classic Youth 170/200/250 race were as follows:

  • Youth 250: #Y011 Wyatt Mayfield, 11 laps, 28:36.666 (1st overall)
  • Youth 170 Production: #Y058 Dylan Llamosas, 10 laps, 28:53.218 (3rd overall)
  • Youth 170 Open: #Y10 Iydalis Martinez, 9 laps, 28:01.744 (8th overall)
  • Youth 200: #T223 Savaya Levinson, 8 laps, 29:20.897 (12th overall)

The Youth 570 and 1000 race kicked things up a notch, with an expanded 3.4-mile race route, six-wide starts, and up to an hour plus one lap of racing for a deep 1000 field. Incoming Youth 1000 points leader Landon Morrow would wrap up a highly consistent season, which saw him take a win and three podiums in the first three races, with one more victory, beating Jaxon Cotter by just over two seconds to secure the title. In the 570 class, which shared the course for 45 minutes of racing, Jaric Yakel earned the victory by nearly a minute over Jack Gillaspy, but second was enough for Gillaspy to secure the title.

Top finishers from the 2026 Laughlin Desert Classic Youth 570/1000 race were as follows:

  1. #Y1088 Landon Morrow, 17 laps, 1:07:00.336
