Best In The Desert Restructures Youth UTV 1000 Classes and Expands Race Schedule

Best In The Desert is thrilled to announce a major restructuring of its Youth UTV 1000 classes, introducing three distinct divisions: Open, Limited NA, and Restricted. This updated format creates a more competitive and rewarding experience by allowing racers to develop their skills within an appropriate level.

  • Restricted – Designed for newcomers gaining experience in desert racing.
  • Limited NA – For racers ready to take on a greater challenge.
  • Open – A class for seasoned competitors, permitting two-seat vehicles and an optional turbo.

This evolution comes after extensive collaboration with racers and the off-road community to ensure fair competition and greater opportunities for young talent.

In addition to these changes, Best In The Desert is expanding its Youth race schedule, starting with the Powersport Pros Silver State 300 presented by Rugged Radios. Building on the success of last year’s first-ever Youth Desert Racing point-to-point event, the organization is committed to continuing this format for the upcoming season. The Youth UTV 1000 class will also compete at the 2025 Vegas to Reno, further solidifying Best In The Desert’s dedication to growing the sport.

“Our goal is to provide the best experience for all of our racers,” said Megan Van Cleve, Assistant Race Director. “These changes reflect our commitment to listening, evolving, and ensuring a bright future for youth desert racing. We can’t wait to see these young competitors rise to the challenge.”

With this updated class structure and expanded race opportunities, Best In The Desert is setting the stage for an even more exciting and competitive season.
