McKinney, TX – May 16, 2025 — Segway, known for redefining personal mobility, partnered with Evolution Powersports to achieve a historic milestone at the Best in the Desert Silver State 300. Just a few short years after entering the powersports market in 2019, the all-new Segway Super Villain SX20T lined up for its first desert race – as part of one of the most renowned racing series in the U.S. This event marks a significant moment for the brand, showcasing the unmatched performance, durability, and innovation of the Super Villain, and solidifying Segway’s place in the powersports industry.

After 300 grueling desert miles, the Super Villain—piloted by Jacob Zuccone and co-driver Samantha Rode—crossed the finish line at 06:41:10, securing a P1 finish in Super 10 and 13th overall among UTVs and trucks.

Reflecting on the race, Zuccone shared, “The nerves were intense at the start, with the weight of this groundbreaking moment heavy on our shoulders. But as we sat on the starting line, ready for battle, all the hard work, sleepless nights, and weeks of preparation were finally behind us.”

Speaking about the vehicle’s performance, he added, “The first 150 miles were all about getting a feel for the car—understanding how it handled, how it responded, and how Sam and I functioned together inside the cockpit. We focused on syncing our communication and learning the vehicle’s limits. It wasn’t until after Pit 3, when we hit the faster sections of the course, that we began to push a bit harder. The open terrain gave us a chance to let the Super Villain stretch its legs. While we held back from reaching our usual race pace to ensure a clean finish, we still hit a top speed of 101.8 MPH before Pit 4—an impressive feat for a bone-stock vehicle, aside from the required safety modifications.”
