“THE LEGEND LIVES ON” 216 Race Teams To Date Ready To Take The Green Flag At This Weekend’s BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker “425” Presented by Impact
Posted January 31, 2018
A strong field of 52 Trick Trucks headline the rapidly growing number of race teams that have already entered the 2018 BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker “425” Presented by Impact. Walk-in race sign-ups are being accepted until the end of day Friday, and over 225 entries are expected when the first start of the race gets underway at 6:00 AM Saturday morning.
Race related events officially kick off at 11:00 AM Thursday morning, February 1st when the traditional “Time Trials” qualifying session takes place for the combined Trick Trucks and Class 1500 Unlimited Cars shoot it out for the first spot on the starting grid along with the $1,000 “Team Ford” Pole Award. A separate qualifying session will also be held for the Class 6100 Spec Engine Trick Trucks.
Following Time Trials, the 9th annual Parker “425” Downtown Experience will get underway at 2:30 PM. The Downtown Parker “425” Experience features all the race vehicles from both qualifying sessions on display in the middle of Parker along with live entertainment throughout the entire afternoon. This is always an extremely popular and festive event for race fans as well as the local residents of Parker.
The BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker “425” Presented by Impact race weekend continues Friday morning, February 2nd, as contingency and technical inspection take place in the parking lot of the BlueWater Resort & Casino. With the beautiful Colorado River as a backdrop, race fans have the chance to check out hundreds of race vehicles up close as they weave their way through the hundreds of companies on display in contingency row. Plus, they’ll be able to see first hand the latest off-road and racing accessories from the industry’s top manufacturers.
The 2018 edition of the BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker “425” presented by IMPACT will again feature a staggered 2-start format beginning Saturday morning, February 3rd. There will be two (2) starts, the early morning start will be for limited class, lighter weight desert cars and trucks, and the 2nd afternoon start will be for the open class, heavier weight vehicles.
LIVE STREAMING COVERAGE AND SATELLITE TRACKING
Even if you can’t make it to Parker this weekend for the race, you can still take in the action. DirtLive2 will be providing live streaming of the race and RacingTrax will offer real-time satellite tracking of the race vehicles.
DirtLive2 will have three camera crews positioned to provide race action beginning approximately 8:00 AM Saturday morning (Mountain Standard Time). One will be located to catch the action taking place in the “Parker Python”. Another camera will be placed near a high speed section where the race course passes under the highway bridge and heads up along the banks of the Colorado River. The third one will be located at the “Ford Mesa” in the parking lot of the BlueWater Resort & Casino where George Antill will be interviewing the finishing race drivers and updating the action out on the course.
