Moving Forward After COVID-19: Best In The Desert to Hold Virtual Town Hall Meeting via Facebook Live on May 1st

Posted April 22, 2020

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 22, 2020) – The global spread of the novel COVID-19 virus has upended lives, halted business practices, and will forever change the way we, as a world, interact. These are disorienting times and the most important thing brands can do is to provide a clear communication channel with their audiences.

On Friday, May 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. PST, Best In The Desert will hold an hour-long Town Hall Meeting via Facebook Live. It is being called a virtual Town Hall Meeting as there will be an opportunity for a Q and A session with fans, racers, sponsors, and media. This event will provide a chance for everyone to voice their questions and concerns through live commenting via Best In The Desert’s Facebook page.

Best In The Desert’s co-owners Bryan and Daryl Folks, along with Racing Operations Manager Donald Jackson, will share important information in real-time regarding the racing association’s plans to hold events as the economy starts to reopen across Nevada.

Some important information that will be discussed during the live stream include:

  • Plans for rescheduling the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris RZR
  • Plans for moving forward with the rest of the Best In The Desert’s 2020 event series, including the Maxxis Tires “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno Presented By Fox event set to take place Aug. 12-15, 2020
  • Safety and health precautions around future events

The Virtual Town Hall Meeting will be a chance for racers to interact with Best In The Desert staff to ensure that everyone is collectively moving forward with the most current information. As the first event of its kind during these uncertain times, Best In The Desert is taking the lead in the industry to open up communication channels between race organizers, off-road competitors, fans, sponsors, and media.

Best In The Desert has been working diligently behind the scenes to ensure that the series can continue, and do so with attendee safety in mind. As Supercross, NHRA and even NASCAR begin to make plans to go racing once more, so does Best In The Desert.

The world will eventually return to normal, however, it will be a new normal. Businesses will begin to reopen and events will be put back on the schedule, but brands must be cognizant of doing so mindfully.

Best In The Desert will weather this storm with the help of its loyal volunteers, racers, sponsors, and fans. The first step will be to have an open, honest discussion with the off-road racing world.
