To Sponsors, Racers, Volunteer Staff, Media, and Supporters:

Las Vegas, NV April 8, 2020: As we shared last week the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris is being rescheduled from its originally scheduled date of April 30 – May 2, 2020. We are still working with our host hotel partner The Texas Station and the BLM to get the new date finalized. The latest news is that we have been given a range of date options starting in early June extending through early July. We will be monitoring the situation closely and letting our racers and sponsors know the new dates just as soon as they are locked down. We expect solid answers as the COVID-19 pandemic peaks over the next couple of weeks. In any case, we will provide everyone a minimum 30 days advance notice once we can confidently set the new date for the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris. As it currently stands we see no reason why we can’t host this great event during the June/July time period.

In addition to the Silver State 300, we are working hard preparing for the Maxxis Tire “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno Presented by Fox. This year marks the 24th anniversary for the longest single-day off-road racing event in North America and we are pulling out all the stops. This year’s course will include a mixture of some of Vegas to Reno’s most famous routes including sections that haven’t been used since 2008 such as a new section of nearly 10 miles near the north end of the course. The 2020 Maxxis Tire “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno event will once again be the ultimate test of man and machine competing in one of the toughest off-road races in the United States.

“We sincerely appreciate the racing communities steadfast support while we work through these challenges,” commented Bryan Folks, CMO of Best In The Desert. “Based on your calls and emails we know you are looking forward to getting back racing as soon as it is safe to do so and we are anxious as well. We are in constant contact with the BLM, our other partners in the event, and our state and local authorities and feel we are just a couple of weeks away from being able to announce the new date for the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris event. Stay tuned for more information and we will make it available as soon as possible.”

Best In The Desert Race Operations Mgr. Donald Jackson added, “We are working continuously with all entities involved to cover our bases for the VT Construction Silver State 300 Presented by Polaris. Just like all of you, we love The Silver State 300. In 1997, it was part of the first full series offered for quads, cars, and trucks within Best In The Desert and it has become one of the cornerstones in the American Offroad Racing Series. It showcases some of the best terrain Nevada has to offer and takes you back in time with a small-town atmosphere where everyone still waves to each other, stranger or long time friend. We are anxiously awaiting permission to get the Best In The Desert family back together for another historic event. In the meantime, we are praying for everyone’s good health and safe passage through these challenging times. I am confident we will come out of this stronger as a country and as a racing community.”

Best In The Desert will provide additional updates as they become available.
